After three Viking river cruises this year, I think their advertising is exaggerated. I found that some excursions overlapped the dinner hour, which meant you had the choice of missing part of dinner to make the excursion, or skip the excursion. The three cruises were not relaxing. The dining room was almost always understaffed.
Viking May not be the cheapest but the service, food and experiences are worth every penny. You won't be disappointed.
