Best Value and Service on Viking Mimir River Cruises
Viking staff are so very helpful, professional and courteous. The tours were excellent, both included and optional.
Steve was excellent!
First off, I was very disappointed with the internet provided by Viking to the point that I would ask for a partial refund. I have an app on my cell phone to enable me to tell how fast the internet was. Nowhere in the initial advertisement does it mention internet speed. Once on board with the list of daily activities it states that internet speed was variable according to location. I tracked the internet speed the entire way and the average speed was about 0.3mb/sec. That speed totally useless for the internet. Nothing can be downloaded or uploaded like pictures etc. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED Internet was useless. Second, we did not know that we had a $300/ person incentive credit until half way through the trip that had to be used by the end of the trip. Had we known that we would not have spent the $600.00 for the beverage package but used that incentive to pay for it. To rectify the matter we tried to get in touch with Viking Customer service, that also was a nightmare. Finally got it resolved. Third, 2 hours between layovers is totally unacceptable. Going through customs and security depending on the day and time can cause you to miss your flight. Fourth, my wife and I could not sit together on the way back, why not? Other than those problems it was a great trip.
Cabin was much more than expected.
Because of river levels, we were forced to swap ships 3 times and missed many locations and excursions.

Trip was very enjoyable and educational. The ship, Viking Mimir, was excellent in every respect. The service and food were excellent and also the tours. We liked the time we went which was the last two weeks of August. The days were still long and the weather was summer weather all the way with high 60`s in Amsterdam to mid 80`s in Budapest with mostly sunny days. Another advantage of this time was that in many cities we toured, school had not yet started and this we were told resulted in less traffic.
