Best Value and Service on Viking Mani River Cruises
This was the best trip I have ever taken!
A very enjoyable experience.
Very well organized,, professional staff, and attentive to needs. Boat internet/tv service sucked. As a longtime boater, know this could have been MUCH better. Food good. Would have loved to have more european foods like chocolate croissants .. surprised they offered NO german pretzels on trip.
My adfvisor was very knowledgeable and followed up on necessary changes. I was very pleased with her knowledge and attention tyo our needs.
The ship is immaculate, the food served is first rate, the tour guides are knowledgeable and personable and the tours are interesting and captivating. We found our room to be rather small (2 people cannot move around at any one time) but designed well and kept spotless. We look forward to our next cruise with Viking.
The Viking river cruise was fantastic. It was everything that I had expected and then more. The only complaint I would have is that Viking schedules the connecting flights too close together, so if there is the slightest delay, most often the connecting flights are missed causing the necessity to rebook and hope your luggage arrives when you do.
The Cologne cathedral was beautiful, especially lit up at night. We very much enjoyed the Windmill tour and the cheese farm tour. The Middle Rhine was beautiful as promised.
Great trip. Viking really runs a top notch system and is very service oriented.
The staff on the ship could not have been better. From housekeeping to Cruise Director this was the best experience ever on a cruise.
Our travel consultant Riley is always on top of things. He has been a wonderful person to deal with for all of our 4 travel tours these past 5 years. We would recommend him very highly if you are in need of a personal travel professional.
Marianne was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful as we planned this trip. She was able to answer all our questions and make airline reservations, assist with hotels, and make suggestions for our itinerary!
Wonderful experience. A dream journey!!
Excellent, friendly staff and great food! Lower deck cabin was bigger and let in more light than expected.
Thanks. We had a wonderful Viking Cruise. Staying in Amsterdam for two days before was wonderful. We also stayed one night in Basel, Switzerland and went to Lake Lucern on the train for the day.
We had some unfortunate "Mother Nature" problems causing a change of ships. We missed a couple of cities that we were supposed to see. We had to stop in Rotterdam for supplies, delaying the ship moving forward. I found that strange that perhaps a lack of organization had to be "paid for" by the guests of the ship. There was "nothing" of interest to see in the town, just more wasted time. The ship and everything about it was run very in a most efficient manner, except for the above.
The staff and crew on the Viking Mani were friendly and helpful. The rooms were very small. The lounge and restaurant were over crowded loud and not accessible. The aquavit terrace was used by same group every meal and no one else. The docking was usually away from excursions, so there were bus rides to most, then the excursion was cut short to ride bus back. Several tour guides were excellent. They took extra time to show us and tell us about the location. Andreas in Heidelberg and Udo in Cologne were the best. Not enough time spent in Heidelberg and Cologne. There was no time in Amsterdam which was very disappointing.
We enjoyed the smaller ship and the excellent staff, but have decided there is more of the USA we want to see in the future, so I doubt we will be booking another European trip.

Trip was excellent. Food was great and service perfect.
