Amazing crew and fantastic chef. Great itinerary for wine lovers

We had very good experience with the Viking crews. They ran the program efficiently, and the staff were all very courteous. The waiters were exceptional; the one serving us went out of his way to ensure we had a wonderful journey. With the exception of Bordeaux City, St. Emilion, and Pauillac that seem interesting, the other cities did not offer much. Also, the river is so short that there wasn't much to see from the cruise.

This was our fourth trip with Viking. Wed don't see any reason to switch brands.

The trip was well organized and the company provided wonderful service.

Our river tour with Viking was one the best vacation experiences we have ever had. The services and people were delightful, accommodations were more than adequate and food aboard was excellent. We also did the Paris extension and found the Viking representatives to be most helpful in all aspects of stay, even to the point of departure. Our only negative would be our hotel stay. Being centrally located, the accommodations while being spacious were inefficient. There wasn't any convenient storage for clothing or bed side articles. All belongs had be stored in closet shelves or remain in your bag, no dressers to store underwear or other personal items. The other issue was, the hotel staff had opened our safe and never mentioned it to us. It appeared the person who stay in our room previously had thought she left her keys in the safe and the staff had opened the safe to check. We know this because she call later asking us to check the safe content. We thought there was a problem with safe after finding it open when returning from dinner.

Viking was first class in every way. Great staff, food was extraordinary, good tours daily.

Viking service was extraordinary, especially at the very end of the trip when our guide took us all the way through Dr Gaulle airport to the check-in desk and even printed out our boarding passes for us. Tremendous service.

We had a wonderful experience on this tour as we did on our first on the Rhine. The staff and all of the guides were so helpful and so knowledgeable. Thank you for another fun filled vacation ! ! !

Great trip

We've enjoyed excellent service from several different Affordable Tours agents over the years, but Jim Leary has been the best by far. He is knowledgeable, courteous, professional, and always promptly attentive in responding to our inquiries and requests. We will continue to seek out his assistance with our travel needs and recommend him to our friends and family members without reservation.

We have done 8 Viking cruises, this crew was the best of the 8.

Everything went very well and professional as always

Had a Transfer pass in packet but Viking did not show up to pick us up at airport. Had to find own transportation and after much conversation did get reimbursed.

Our booking went flawlessly. The trip was excellent. We have already booked our next Viking Cruise with Affordable Tours.

The Veranda room on the Viking ship was smaller and more crowded than we expected. And the bathroom was also very small. But the staff for Viking was great! Delta Airlines was horrible!

Overall I was very pleased with my overall experience. There were some highlights throughout the trip but there were also some things that could have been better. The service was five star with the staff being friendly and accommodating without being too encroaching. We had our favorites for sure. The room was clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable but a couple of nights, there was a ship docked on our side of the ship with the engine running all night. The food was always fresh and abundant. There were times that the food was incredible, but it was hit or miss. Some things were too salty or overcooked. This was an easy fix since you could order something else since it was included. The wine that was included was good some days, but not others. We opted to purchase wine or champagne instead. This was surprising being that it was a Bordeaux wine tour. Overall a good experience and I would definitely do it again but I would skip some of the included walking tours and venture out on my own.

For anyone liking wine, this is the perfect trip! This River Cruise doesn't travel very far on the rivers, but it doesn't have to because the various Bordeaux wine regions are in a rather compact area. If you have cruised with Viking before you know to expect excellent customer service and a great shipboard experience! This was our first River Cruise which included free air fare from Viking. Overall this was a great value, however, with the airlines that Viking chose, we were only allowed to upgrade our seats on the KLM flight. This opportunity was rather confusing because Delta, KLM & Air France are partners and we could not upgrade our seats on any of the Delta flights. This is something the customer needs to know, if the airlines that Viking chooses, won't allow you to upgrade your seats.
