Meals: Dinner - Day 2Rouen, FranceTue, Nov 23, 2027
After morning cruising, Rouen comes into view. Nicknamed the "city of a hundred spires" by Victor Hugo, Normandy's historic capital enchants with bell towers, half-timbered houses, narrow cobbled lanes, and storied squares. On a locally guided walking tour, discover where medieval history and Gothic architecture reveal themselves at every turn – including the square where Joan of Arc was famously tried and martyred in 1431. When you see Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen this morning, you may recognize it from one of Claude Monet's 30-plus paintings of France's tallest cathedral. Following your morning tour, enjoy a leisurely afternoon exploring the romantic historic center and its many shops. This evening, an elegant Tauck-exclusive experience awaits with a private tour, live music, and dinner at the 16th-century Château du Taillis – a Renaissance treasure renowned for its manicured grounds.
Meals: Breakfast - Day 3Caudebec FranceWed, Nov 24, 2027
This morning, arrive in Caudebec-en-Caux for a poignant visit to the beaches of Normandy. Led by a local expert, delve into the events, heroism, and sacrifices of June 6, 1944, and the Allied liberation of Western Europe. Visit Pointe du Hoc, where 225 U.S. Army Rangers scaled 100-foot cliffs to disable German weapons threatening Omaha and Utah Beaches. Walk Omaha Beach, one of the five D-Day landing sites, where history comes alive on the sand beneath your feet. Pause for lunch at nearby 18th-century Château La Chenevière, a graceful English-style country manor with French flair, before reflecting at the Normandy American Cemetery – the final resting place of more than 9,300 American troops. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a cocktail reception and dinner in the Compass Rose.
Meals: Breakfast - Day 4Vernon, FranceThu, Nov 25, 2027
Your final day in Normandy leads you to Vernon – a quaint village renowned for its half-timbered mill above the Seine. Today, tour Château de Bizy, a mid-18th-century royal palace often nicknamed "Little Norman Versailles," and once owned by relatives of King Louis XV and Napoleon. Step inside its elegant salons, parlors, and stables to glimpse aristocratic life in France. Spread across roughly 200 acres, its manicured lawns are adorned with statues and ornate fountains. Back onboard, experience the flavors of the region with a presentation on cider and calvados by a local producer this afternoon. In Normandy, more than 3 million apple trees yield over 60 million bottles of cider each year, continuing a tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages. After your tasting, set off on a sunset cruise toward Paris and enjoy the Chef's Signature Dinner in Compass Rose this evening.
Meals: Breakfast - Day 5Paris, FranceFri, Nov 26, 2027

Today, choose how you wish to explore: take a guided coach tour around the City of Light, including a visit inside the opulent 19th-century opera house; or join a walking tour of Le Marais – a former marshland turned aristocratic haven – where cobblestone streets, stylish boutiques, and the graceful Place des Vosges, Paris's oldest square and once home to Victor Hugo, capture the city's timeless charm. This afternoon, explore one of Paris' many world-class museums, where its artistic soul comes vividly to life. Questions & Answers Ask A Question
Question: Will the day-by-day itinerary change?
Question: In what language is the river cruise conducted?
Great trip-Keukonhof gardens very special. MS Treasures was a lovely boat
It was the first of - I hope- many. Excellent organization and staff.
Tauck were totally totally outstanding in every way
Great trip.
We had a marvelous trip. Tauck thinks of everything!!
Tauck was fabulous -- ship was beautiful and the staff was above and beyond in every area!! Food and drinks were great!! Loved the Itinerary -- we went 2 days early and stayed 2 after and Tauck made sure all was taken care of -- picked up upon arrival and car to airport upon departure. Local guides were great with a fun sense of humor.
Tauck is always an outstanding experience.
Enjoyed all aspects of the Tauck Cruise.
Once you take a Tauck tour, you'll never go with another Operator. The Tauck experience was incredible and totally worth the money. Can't think of one thing to complain about or would change.
This trip was wonderful. Tauck experience is over the top and enjoyed every minute.
Tauck tours are always very professional and first class. The river boat that Tauck leased was gorgeous, with large bathrooms and well appointed cabins. The food was ample and very good, with a reasonable selection for all palates. The ports of call were lovely; while we did not stop at some of the larger cities such as Cologne, it allowed us to often be the only river boat at each port for many of the ports of call. The tours on land were diverse and interesting, and the Tauck tour directors made sure that the tours were informative and top notch.
While this trip was nice, it was a little bit boring. We had day trips in the morning. One of the excursions took us to a small town in Austria. It took 1 hour 45 minutes to get there and return. We had a 45 minute tour. Then there was lunch but there wasn\'t much else to do. We left at 9 a.m. and returned at 5 p.m. When we went to Vienna there were great tours in the morning but not enough time to do an on our own tour in the afternoon because of the bus schedule. If you like to do nothing in the afternoon or eat or drink or read then you will like this tour. If you are an adventure traveler, River cruising isn\'t great. The food was mediocre. The service was great.
While watching a video on the history of Tauck during a coach ride portion of this tour, I was surprised to find out that this company pioneered land tours in North America, and was the first to offer European river cruises. Tauck takes care of even the smallest details, from tipping local guides to providing us with coins to use restrooms during walking tours of the various cities we visited. WiFi onboard is complimentary -- something even NatGeo doesn\'t offer on their cruises. And, an open bar to boot, where I ordered the most exotic cocktails and kept the bartenders grinning and guessing as to their ingredients. Our arrivals at hotels in separate coaches on land portions of the tour were coordinated beforehand with our rooms and luggage, so that we did not have to spend any time standing in large gatherings in the hotel lobby waiting for rooms to be assigned and room keys slowly doled out as in other tours. As we off boarded our coaches, we were handed our room keys and were able to proceed immediately to our rooms, with our luggage delivered soon thereafter. Each hotel stay was fabulous and impressive -- four stars all the way. Live orchestral music gave our dining experiences a truly special touch.
The Danube river cruise trip from Prague to Budapest was excellent; superior service and itinerary. This is our 2nd trip booked through Affordable Tours and would not hesitate to use your organization again.
