Become an expert on the Danube River’s many wonders as you admire the swirling colors of Passau’s famous confluence, pedal past the vineyard-lined banks of the Wachau Valley, and listen to the melodic sounds of “The Blue Danube” waltz echo through a historic Viennese concert hall during a private evening of classical music arranged just for Uniworld guests. Continue on to explore the UNESCO-designated architecture of Budapest, cruise through the magnificent Iron Gates, and enjoy a homecooked meal with a local family in rural Croatia. This itinerary is a combination of Enchanting Danube and Highlights of Eastern Europe.
- Day 1Passau (Embark)Sun, Aug 01, 2027Arrive at Munich Airport. If you have arranged a Uniworld arrival transfer, you will be greeted by a Uniworld representative and transferred to the ship.
Meals: Dinner - Day 2PassauMon, Aug 02, 2027Passau is a crossroads in more ways than one, as three rivers meet here and three nations nearly do, making for a fascinating cultural mosaic. Get to know the town and its main claim to fame—Europe’s largest pipe organ—or “Let’s Go” with an invigorating riverside hike.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - Day 3Linz (Salzburg)Tue, Aug 03, 2027Mozart’s birthplace of Salzburg is nestled in a glorious alpine setting that sparkles like a winter wonderland. Linz may be best known for its famous Linzer torte, but it’s also a hotbed for the arts. See the sights with a local expert and visit a family at their farm in the countryside. Austria’s third-largest city, Linz boasts a long history of trading and textile manufacturing, but these days it is perhaps best known for its electronic arts and annual festival.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - Day 4Melk, DürnsteinWed, Aug 04, 2027This morning, visit the 900-year-old Melk Abbey and its extraordinary baroque-style library.Later, you will head to Dürnstein, one of our favorite towns along the Danube, a lovely place to wander cobblestone lanes, browse quaint shops, and maybe hike up to a ruined castle (with an intriguing tale all its own). You have two ports of call in the incredibly scenic valley, Dürnstein and Melk, and an assortment of delightful ways to explore this lovely region.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - Day 5ViennaThu, Aug 05, 2027Vienna is a cultural treasure trove revered for its art and music (and sinfully rich pastries). Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - Day 6Vienna, BratislavaFri, Aug 06, 2027Your ship sets sail from Vienna and heads for Bratislava today. You may relax onboard all day, perhaps enjoying a drink on the Sun Deck and taking in the scenery as the ship wends its way along the Austrian Danube toward Bratislava. Although it’s not a large city, Bratislava has played a leading role in the politics and culture of the region for many centuries, and it is well worth a visit. If you opt for the walking tour today, you may choose to leave the ship by bus in Vienna and start your excursion early. This would give you time for lunch on your own in town, as well as some additional free time to enjoy Bratislava after your tour ends.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - Day 12Golubac, Cruising the Iron GatesThu, Aug 12, 2027Head ashore to explore a Paleolithic site and an extraordinarily well-preserved medieval fortress. All along the way, history lines the banks of the river. Question: Will the day-by-day itinerary change?
Question: In what language is the river cruise conducted?
Small group on ship. Great for meeting new people. Great friendly professional staff. Excellent food. Depending on destinations excursions are good. This was our second time with Uniworld. First was Italy. That was unbelievable.
OUR TRAVEL AGENT KEVIN ORR WAS EXTREMELY RESPONSIVE TO OUR TRAVEL DESIRES. HE MADE EVERY EFFORT TO ACCOMMODATE OUR REQUESTS AND OVERALL WE WERE SUPREMELY PLEASED BY OUR TRIP AND THE EFFORTS MADE AFFORDABLE TOURS ON OUR BEHALF
I thoroughly enjoyed this river cruise along the Danube. Everything was as advertised. We were met at the airport and arrived early to our ship. The Uniworld staff was amazing! I definitely recommend this cruise.
Uniworld cruise was fabulous. It could not have been nicer. The ship was beautiful, staff was excellent, food was fantastic, service was wonderful. excursions were perfect. We had a great experience.
First class, well operated cruise line. Service and food outstanding, the ship is well appointed and comfortable. Uniworld is probably not the cheapest out there, but you get the quality you pay for. The staff is exceptional and the entire experience was flawless.
We usually compare travel agencies for every trip we take, and Affordable Tours alwqys comes out ahead. We have always been satisfied with their service and will continue to use them.
The bar and dining staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. They quickly identified our preferences and served us consistently. The reception desk team was always helpful and friendly. Our stateroom was always cleaned and tidy for us. The wellness center manager was experienced, helpful and friendly.
Uniworld was excellent!
The trip up the Rhone River more than met our expectations (except it rained more than we liked!). It was a marvelous trip that the eight of us (four couples) enjoyed very much,
This was our 4th Uniworld cruise and each has been a memorable experience. Staff and menu are both important aspects of a cruise, and Uniworld excels in both areas. Decor of both public areas and cabins is unique and tasteful, adding a special flavor to the cruise experience. Our cruise director on the SS Catherine was exception in terms of knowledge and service.
Uniworld is amazing! We loved the river baroness, however, ss Catherine was more exceptional
Uniworld exceeded expectations
The trip, itinerary, accommodations, tours, staff and food were outstanding. Learned so much and guides were awesome .
Our Uniworld river cruise, Provence to Burgundy, was everything we expected and more. Their Masterpiece excursions are exceptional. We also loved not having to tip as it was included in our package.
