Enjoy sweet treats as you indulge in the wintertime festivities of Belgian towns, where the Christmas markets are often elaborate festivals complete with ice rinks and Ferris wheels. Warm your hands with mugs of hot chocolate and stroll through the UNESCO-designated city center of Bruges, decked in twinkling lights for the holidays. Then fill your mind with art and culture in the Netherlands, where you can find the porcelain artisans of Delft crafting their famous blue-and-white pottery, a little palace dedicated entirely to Dutch art, and the canal-lined streets of a wintry Amsterdam.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - Day 3GhentSat, Dec 25, 2027On Christmas day, visit one of two national gems: beautiful Bruges, the capital of West Flanders and one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe, or fascinating Ghent, the capital city of East Flanders, whose long history does not weigh on its vibrant present. Belgium’s second-largest city, Ghent abounds in medieval architecture, which makes for a particularly magical canvas for the town’s Christmastime decorations.

A blend of city interest—with plenty of cafés and shopping—and an easygoing, small-town atmosphere, the mostly car-free Hasselt is a charming place to explore on foot. It is also, as you can discover at one of the tasting booths in the market, known as the unofficial capital of Belgium’s famous spirit, Jenever.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - Day 5MaastrichtMon, Dec 27, 2027Venture into the Netherlands to visit Maastricht, known as one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in Holland and loved for its convivial lifestyle and historic center, which has long played a strategic role in European politics. Choose to explore this city’s Christmas market or head into Valkenburg for a unique underground Christmas Market experience.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - Day 8RotterdamThu, Dec 30, 2027Rotterdam is thoroughly modern—you’ll soon understand why it’s sometimes called “Manhattan on the Meuse”: The Maas Tower, the Montevideo, the Millennium Tower, and the spectacular Erasmus Bridge make for a dazzling skyline. There’s a popular phrase in the Netherlands, gezellig, that encompasses the quaint and cozy nature of Dutch culture. And truly, it doesn’t get more gezellig than this.

Questions & Answers Ask A Question
Question: Will the day-by-day itinerary change?
Question: In what language is the river cruise conducted?
We booked this trip with a knowledgeable agent who did a fine job. When our flight was delayed, she contacted our river cruise ship and kept everyone informed.
This was an excellent trip with a good variety of experiences. Service is really great--staff is friendly and attentive. Although it seems to me that there was more upselling (to special dinners or what Uniworld calls Masterpiece Collection excursions) than what I had encountered in the past, I have to say that these were some of the best experiences, so in that sense were worth what I paid for them. To explain the accomodation ranking below "strongly agree" : 1) The picture of the stateroom on the website showed 2 chairs-an important feature for us. There was only one when we checked in but they brought another chair right away.
The itinerary and staff were both superb! We were on the boat during the big power outage in Portugal, Spain and Italy. Uniworld adapted so well, and changed the order of our itinerary around the outages, as the locks were not working. We did not miss anything on our advertised agenda.
The staff, service, food and excursions were all exceptional. Will book with Uniworld again!
Weather was outstanding which made the trip truly enjoyable and memorable.
Cruising with Uniworld is a wonderful experience
We had a wonderful trip after Delta finally got us to Frankfurt. It’s a lovely ship with a superb crew.
Everything about the experience was excellent from the moment of boarding and receiving the solicitous attention of the staff, which continued from start to finish. Superb on-board service. The ship was wonderfully quiet and comfortable. The amenities were luxurious. Meals were tasty and filling. The onshore trips were excellent and varied, with high quality guides. Having buses to take us to places not otherwise accessible from the landing added a great deal. As a result, the itinerary was rich with history and beautiful places. I am looking forward to my next river cruise!
The only negative we have - some of the tour operators were hard to understand.
This was our 4th Uniworld cruise and each has been a memorable experience. Staff and menu are both important aspects of a cruise, and Uniworld excels in both areas. Decor of both public areas and cabins is unique and tasteful, adding a special flavor to the cruise experience. Our cruise director on the SS Catherine was exception in terms of knowledge and service.
The trip up the Rhone River more than met our expectations (except it rained more than we liked!). It was a marvelous trip that the eight of us (four couples) enjoyed very much,
Uniworld was excellent!
I thoroughly enjoyed this river cruise along the Danube. Everything was as advertised. We were met at the airport and arrived early to our ship. The Uniworld staff was amazing! I definitely recommend this cruise.
Small group on ship. Great for meeting new people. Great friendly professional staff. Excellent food. Depending on destinations excursions are good. This was our second time with Uniworld. First was Italy. That was unbelievable.
I loved our Uniworld cruise! Everything was top notch.
