Experience the fascinating Nazca Lines, archaeological treasures, and gastronomic delights of Peru, with the untamed rainforest of the Amazon, on this thrilling river cruise adventure that offers a little something for everyone!Begin in the cosmopolitan city of Lima with a guided sightseeing tour, a visit to the Larco Herrera Museum, and a special welcome dinner in an ornate family-owned mansion. Fly to Cusco and descend into the Sacred Valley of the Incas for guided tours of the ceremonial site of Kenko, where ancient rituals were performed, and the Temple of Sacsayhuaman. Of course, no vacation to Peru is complete without visiting astonishing Machu Picchu, built around 1450, and sitting majestically above the Sacred Valley. Stand in awe as you witness one of the most majestic images in South America, if not the entire world! Next, you’ll embark on a journey to one of the world’s vastly unexplored regions where biodiversity is at its greatest—the mighty Amazon. Board one of the world’s most luxurious small ships, the Delfin III, and enjoy fine wine, famous Peruvian cuisine, and all-inclusive comfort while venturing deep into the Amazon jungle in search of elusive wildlife. Take naturalist-guided panga rides through the river tributaries, swim with pink dolphins, and visit native communities—all while returning to your plush five-star yacht.Your unforgettable trip to Peru is not complete without seeing the Nazca Lines. When seen from the air, the lines form precise geometric shapes that number in the hundreds, as well as 70 figures, which include a monkey, whale, hummingbird, shark, spiders, and plants. Archaeologists remain puzzled about why the ancient Nazca people, who thrived here from 200 BC to 500 AD, created illustrations that could only be seen from far above the earth. Before this cruise adventure is complete, you’ll get a chance to explore the beautiful Galápagos Islands onboard the 20-passenger MS Infinity yacht! Have your camera ready as your Naturalist points out colonies of sea lions, pelicans, albatross, marine iguanas, flamingos, blue-footed boobies, short-eared owls, and other birds. You’ll also have a chance to snorkel in the tropical waters and perhaps get a look at sea turtles, sharks, and rays. A perfect ending to this trip of a lifetime!

Questions & Answers Ask A Question
Question: Will the day-by-day itinerary change?
Question: In what language is the river cruise conducted?
Avalon panorama was exceptional in every way possible. Professional staff incredible food tours were excellent. Customer service was above and beyond highly recommend the Rhine cruise !!!
Our trip exceeded our expectations. Avalon did an amazing job, and everything was handled from start to finish by a caring team. From airport pickup to airport drop off we never had a worry or concern, just a really great experience. This trip really included everything from a variety of excursions to the free wine, beer at lunch and afternoon happy hour, with free drinks was a nice touch. I will hopefully be able to do another river cruise soon.
We were impressed with all the ship’s personnel. They were competent, cheerful, and always helpful. Our agent from Affordable Tours was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and responsive.
Avalon service was fantastic- crew went beyond expectations.
We had a great trip on our Rhine River Cruise with Avalon Waterways. Everything went according to plan and the ship, accommodations, dining, staff, and itinerary were great! We loved Avalon and would certainly book with them again.
Everything was first class. Especially the Keukenfhof Tulip Gardens. All the tours were guided nicely.
Avalon has always been my favorite River Cruise line. The staff were great, excursions were very good, but sometimes I wish guides would not ramble on and keep tour moving. We left the tour groups most of the time because guide was toooo wordy and didn't give us enough free time.
This was a new itinerary so that could be why there were only 68 passengers onboard but I thought it was great. And most were American so lots in common. Crew, food, drinks were outstanding. I would have liked more sailing time and less docking in Bordeaux
Everything was fantastic!!
We had a wonderful time and are very grateful to our agent for her professional assistance
We had such an amazing trip and met such wonderful people! This was our second Avalon trip this year and won’t be our last!
Avalon cruise on Rhine and Mosel met our expectations, and we were treated to a first class experience.
The accommodations were very spacious and appealing. The crew and staff excellent and attentive. The menu at at night was varied and the food was very good. Tours were well organized and the guides very knowledgeable.
Our stateroom was well appointed and comfortable and clean. Furnishings are starting to show their age. Service staff was fine but not quite at the level we experienced on previous cruises with Avalon. Food and beverage was very good.
The trip planning met expectations but we did encounter a few unexpected changes along the way. Our ship had to be docked before we could continue due to low water level in the Danube. Avalon did their utmost to schedule us a transfer to another ship with transportation to it with financial compensation. This worked out well and we were minimally inconvenienced by this. We are grateful that this was coordinated before we even knew what was going on. Even though we received a new crew aboard the Avalon Expression, we were able to maintain our activities coordinator, Michala, who went out of her way to make sure that we were taken care of and informed every step of the way.
